Senate Majority Leader Prof Kithure Kindiki has said he will ensure that the families of the seven policemen who lost their lives in the Kapenguria raid last week on Thursday will be given sh 10 m each from the insurance scheme that was established in 2014.

Mr. Kindiki said the policy covers all security officers that lose their lives or get injured in the line of duty. He insisted that the government will continue to improve the welfare of police officers.

Mrs. Betty Ochieng the wife to one of the deceased police officers says she learnt of her husband’s death through social media. She tried to reach her husband through the phone on hearing of the station attack over the radio to no avail and this prompted her to check his husband’s facebook where she saw message of condolence on his page.

Our thoughts and prayers go to the deceased and their families.
