Uchumi Cheaf Executive Mr. Julius Kipngetich said he has issued cheques worth Sh240 million to suppliers who supply the supermarkets. The cheques written were for May and June but the director said they will continue the deal until the supermarkets get back on track.
Uchumi has struck a deal with close to 170 suppliers, who will resume supplying the hotel. The director has also called on more suppliers to bring their goods back promising they will sort things out.
The supermarket chain opened accounts at the Kenya Commercial Bank, Jamii Bora Bank and United Bank for Africa in Kenya (UBA).
